The guests of Kamchatka should be ready for the surprises of weather. Thus in June unthawed snow can be met in many places. During the day weather may change and bring fog and drizzling and then again heat. Those who is going for the walk along the Avacha bay should remember that their companion will be a cool breeze. Cyclones exert a great influence upon weather, they come from the Japanese and Yellow seas, which bring the winds of gale force, snowstorms and snowfalls (especially in February and March). The depth of the snow layer is 3 or more (in the mountains) meters in winter. It lies for 222 days. The snow starts to melt in April, and on the mountains in the northern part of the peninsula it melts till August.
The hottest months are July and August. But there are some hot days with the temperature of more than 20 degrees on Kamchatka: on the sea coast their quantity does not exceed at an average six day, in the valley of the Kamchatka river 35-55 days.
